Chinatown Lunar New Year Bazaar
This annual event covers two city blocks and occurs every year on a weekend in either late January or February, depending on when the New Year falls on the lunar calendar. The Bazaar features diverse cultural entertainment, exquisite food demonstrations, fortune telling, and a Little Prince and Princess Contest (sponsored by Oakland Chinatown Lion's Club).
Oakland Running Festival
The Oakland Running Festival features 5 races of all distances: marathon, half, relay, 5k and kid's fun run. Voted the "Best Marathon in the Pacific/West", it's not-to-miss for runners.
4th of July at Jack London Square
Celebrate Independence Day on the Oakland Waterfront at Jack London Square! This free festival features interactive activities and performers for all ages.
Oakland Art & Soul Festival

The annual Oakland Pride Festival starts at 20th & Broadway in downtown Oakland. This event featuring multiple entertainment stages, unique vendors and a Family & Children's Garden.
Oakland Chinatown StreetFest
Scheduled during the fourth weekend in August each year, the Chinatown StreetFest is home to cultural performances, live music and delicious food throughout Oakland's Chinatown.
Black Cowboy Parade & Festival
Dust off those cowboy boots and celebrate the annual Oakland Black Cowboy Parade, the only parade and celebration of its kind in the United States! This historic parade gives visitors a "taste of the old west" with food, horse and pony rides and an array of entertainment for all ages.
Jack London Square Holiday Tree Lighting
Celebrate the festive holiday season with an annual family tree lighting ceremony on the waterfront at Jack London Square. Free to attend, visitors will be delighted by performances by The Tap Dancing Christmas Trees, an assortment of costumed characters and a visit from Santa!
Oakland Holiday Parade
The first annual Oakland Holiday Parade was held in 2000 and over 30,000 people attended. Within a few short years, the Oakland Holiday Parade has not only become Northern California's premier family event, but has become recognized as "America's Children's Holiday Parade".
